SAAB employed a GARRETT T3(With 50 Compressor Wheel) turbocharger for use on their 16 valve engines from 1985 to 1989 900(Turbo And SPG) and the 1986-1989 9000T. Installation of any turbocharger cartridge requires removal of the aluminum compressor housing as well as the cast iron exhaust turbine housing which allows for immediate employment of the our cartridge.
The previous few years has spawned various "Aftermarket" T3 turbocharger options which would be a cost savings but will not have the quality of our original SAAB replacement turbochargers.

If purchasing a new complete T3 turbocharger replacement, pricing will be well over $1000 and be supplied with a new turbine housing, compressor housing and wastegate actuator...all of which may be re-used from the original T3 assembly.
The T3 internal cartridge is a low cost alternative to a complete turbocharger replacement and includes a VSR balanced SAAB compressor wheel/turbine assembly, bearing housing, as well as our NEW upgraded 360 degree turbine oil seal (for superior longevity and oil retention), bearings, o-rings, thrust assembly and internals. Installation is simple, requires no special tools, and may be accomplished in under 30 minutes.
Upon installation, there are no requirements for re-balancing, modifications, etc.
