Finally, an answer to suspension and engine related bushing woes!
OEM sway bar, shock and alternator bushings are manufactured from a rubber compound that is easily deformed/destroyed with use. This renders a very "loose" or "sloppy" characteristic/feel to suspension components (sway bars and shock absorbers) and can become so bad that the symptoms are commonly mistaken for faulty shock absorbers or ball joints.
We also dare you to open the 900 bonnet during idle for an inspection of your alternator. In most cases, the "dance" it performs for it's owner is due to tired/weak bushings at it's mount and adjusting arm. Replacement of the OEM rubber bushings typically resolves the problem for a short period or until the expensive yet very limited replacements wear within a few month's time. The performance of these bushings is also substandard as the rubber compound has the tendency to "give" under pressure rendering a soft and unpredictable suspension. Abruptly turn the direction of the car's travel during high speed driving, for example, and the demand will seem to hesitate due to the activity/force on the flexible rubber suspension bushings.
Our upgrade bushing kits are constructed of the highest quality Polyurethane which has the advantage of being firm yet durable and typically outlast OEM components by the matter of years. These are ready to install and can be easily pressed into lower shock eyelets and/or sway bar/alternator brackets after removal of the tired OEM bushings. After installation, shock absorbers typically feel more active and customer comments suggest that the OEM sway bar feels as if it were oversized. The alternator is also kept in steady form providing a substantial reduction of idle vibration.
