Our engine rebuild kits are being extended for a limited time for those spring engine rebuilds or performance updates and include:
-Cylinder piston ring replacement set with chromium top ring for unsurpassed protection against detonation!
-Tri-Metal Bearing sets for both main and connecting rod. The tri-metal bearings were discontinued by SAAB with the loss of VANDERVELL OEM. We how have sets of new old stock VP/VANDERVELL bearing assemblies and will include them with our kits. Any other alternative or non tri-metal assemblies offered by most OEM parts suppliers and SAAB dealerships) will pose a threat to engine longevity...especially on the forced induction/turbocharged or high compression ratio non turbo applications wherein the bearings typically compress at stress points, increasing clearances and eventual bearing failure!! $279.95 includes all tri-metal main/connecting rod bearings, thrust bearings, and chromium (top ring) piston rings. These will fit all SAAB 900 from 1979-1993 ('94 conv.) and 1986-1989 9000 2.0 liter and are designed for standard rebuilds (no undersize/oversize available) that have lower assemblies not in need of machining (80-90% of SAAB engines do not require machining prior to rebuild!)
